About me.

Matthias Schmid

As a marine biologist, my research is centered around investigating the potential impacts of future ocean conditions on marine ecosystems, with a specific focus on seaweeds. Through my work, I aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of how these vital organisms respond to various environmental stressors and the broader implications of these responses for the marine ecosystem as a whole.

Additionally, I am interested in exploring the practical applications of seaweed. Specifically, I investigate how seaweed can be utilised for carbon and nutrient mitigation. By combining theoretical research with practical applications, I hope to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient use of our marine resources.
